This is to talk about how long we will take to deal with your requests.
Well, as Project Manager for translation and many other assignments, I’m responsible for ensuring that all your information and needs are fully understood and agreed upon before we start work. This entails spending – not losing! – enough time at the beginning agreeing on needs and deadlines in order to guarantee that things run smoothly later on. Once we have all your material, plus any reference material you may like to provide me with, I can confer with colleagues and give you a hard answer on the timescale necessary to complete your project. Once all this is agreed, we then exchange written Purchase Orders and I start the ball rolling. During the course of work, unforeseen things may happen: you may have to integrate or change some of the text, or we may run into an area that proves more tricky than originally expected. Whatever happens, it remains my job to make sure things work out well. You can feel confident that when I promise a delivery deadline, I respect it.
